Mr. Harold H. Nettles, 96, of Charleston, entered into rest Friday morning, September 22, 2023, at his residence. He was the loving husband of sixty-four years to the late Mrs. Fairy Colson Nettles who died in 2012.
Born July 3, 1927, in Beaufort, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Vonlehe Nettles and the late Dora Lemacks Nettles. He retired from the maintenance department at Kiawah Island. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Charleston Ward. Harold will always be remembered as a hardworking family man who always enjoyed “tinkering” around the house.
Surviving are: three children, Russell H. Nettles (Kathy), Pamela F. Atkinson (Cliff), and Karl H. Nettles; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a special family friend, Madeline Nettles. He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
The family is especially grateful to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, October 2, 2023, from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Walterboro Branch, 1035 Dandridge Road, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Bedon Baptist Churchyard, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 1 o’clock at the Walterboro Branch.
