Harold Hickman
January 17, 1933 — June 22, 2012
Mr. Harold Franklin Hickman, 79, of Black Creek Road, Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Thursday morning, June 22, 2012, at the Hospice of Charleston in Mount Pleasant. Harold was the husband of the late Mrs. JoAnn Blocker Hickman who died in 2008.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon, June 30, 2012, from the graveside at Black Creek Baptist Churchyard, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro. The family will receive friends following the committal ceremony at the gravesite.
Mr. Hickman was born January 17, 1933, and was a son of the late Clarence Hickman and the late Jessie Fisk Hickman. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Harold wore many hats in his lifetime. For many years, he was an assessor for the Colleton County Tax Office and had also worked for National Welders. He loved farming as well and was very talented with woodworking and making candles. Also during his lifetime he had owned and operated a ladies clothing store on Main Street in Walterboro. He will be remembered for his talents, Christian devotion, and the tremendous love and compassion he possessed for his late wife.
Surviving are: a daughter, Cynthia Ann Hickman of Walterboro; three grandchildren, Crystal Martin and her husband Ryan of Columbia, Quinn Warren of Aiken and Casey Warren of Walterboro; and two great grandchildren, Dylan and Jamie Martin. There is a nephew, Michael Hickman and his wife Susan and three great nephews, Mike, Jim, and Paul that also survive.
