Mr. R. Harold Beach, 88, of Saint Augustine, Florida, entered into rest Monday morning, December 28, 2015, at the Flagler Hospital.
Funeral services with military honors will be conducted 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, December 31, 2015, from the graveside at Jordan Cemetery, Cottageville.
Born March 13, 1927, a native of Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Gary Beach and the late Shelly Hiott Beach. Mr. Beach served our country faithfully in the United States Army for eight years, having toured Germany, Japan, Korea, and other countries during World War II. He then worked for over twenty years with Pantry Pride where he retired as a Produce Manager prior to having owned and operated his own trucking business. He was a Master Mason having just entered his forty-eighth year of membership in the craft, and will be fondly remembered for his love of gardening as well as fishing in earlier years.
Surviving are: his wife of forty-two years, Mrs. Bessie Lee Hoff Beach; and two children, Nancy Beach Greer and her husband Butch of Atlanta, Georgia and Betsy Marie Rodgers of Green Cove Springs, Florida. There are four grandchildren, Mary Hannah Greer, Jesse James Greer, Nicole Lee Rodgers, and Amanda Marie Rosa; and one great grandchild, Grayson Steven Rosa; as well as a dear friend and devoted caregiver, David Rauch. He was preceded in death by a son, Julian “Monty” Irvin.
