Mrs. Gregoria Tio Canieso, 86, of Ladson, died Friday, July 11, 2008. She was the widow of Alejo C. Canieso, 2nd Lt., United States Army, WWII.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held twelve oclock, Monday, July 14, 2008 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek. Final Commendation and Farewell will follow at Smoak Cemetery in Ruffin. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 until the hour of service at the church.
Mrs. Canieso was born February 13, 1922 in Nagbalaye Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental, Philippines and was a daughter of Emelio Tio and Antonia Deloria Adepon Tio. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Surviving are: her daughters, Milagros Faiardo of the Philippines, Bernadette Bunton of Ladson, Jessie Maio of New Jersey, Teresita Canieso of Goose Creek, Charito Kilat of the Philippines, Evangeline Esposito Beeman of California, Susan Clemente of Orlando, Florida and Jacqueline Pacion of the Philippines; her son, Lt. Commander Gilbert Canieso, United States Navy, stationed in Iraq; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
