Gloria Jean Fletcher

Mrs. Gloria Jean Frazier Fletcher, 66, of Herndon Street in Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest Thursday evening, October 4, 2012, at the Oakwood Health Care Center in Walterboro following a long and courageous illness.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Saturday morning, October 6, 2012, from the Walterboro Church of God, 4582 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro. The Reverend John Harbin and The Reverend O’Neal Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Born December 19, 1946, a native and lifelong resident of Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Ashley and Lorine Bazzle Frazier. A loving and Christian woman who devoted her life to the service of God and others was a dedicated babysitter throughout her life to many children in the Walterboro Community being affectionately known as everyone’s “Nanny”. She was a member of the Walterboro Church of God where she was a constant and reliable icon within the church always present when the doors of the church were open and willing to serve with that smile everyone came to expect. At her church, she was active in the Ladies Ministry and the Bus Ministry of the Church and was active in the church choir; as well as with any project or mission that she felt a calling to be a part of.

Surviving are: her husband of forty-nine years, Mrs. Calvin Willis Fletcher; a son, Randy Fletcher and a friend of the family, Diane Parker of Walterboro; two daughters, Donna Fletcher Johnson and her husband Larry of Walterboro and Lynn Fletcher Dantzler and her Jason of Ruffin; a brother, Ashley Frazier Jr. of Walterboro; and three sisters, Helen Jennings of Walterboro, Sue Smith of Conway, and Diane Jones of Walterboro. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jennings and Lorraine Keegan. There are seven grandchildren, Victor Johnson and his wife Brandi, Danielle Johnson, Amanda Mack and her husband Johnnie Mack, Charlotte Fletcher, Chelsie Dantzler, Ashley Dantzler, and Trey Dantzler; as well as four great grandchildren, Kayla Hudson, Michael Johnson, Landen Johnson, Aubrey Mack.

Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Walterboro Church of God, for use with the Ladies Ministries, 4582 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
