Gloria Bessinger

Mrs. Gloria Griessbach Bessinger, 89, of Bamberg, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, January 19, 2023 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.  She was the wife of the late Marion Bessinger.

Mrs. Bessinger was born February 11, 1933 and was a member of Ehrhardt Memorial Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, puzzle books.  She also enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers.  Mrs. Gloria was a caregiver to many and loved to volunteer at the Bamberg Cheese and Cracker Box.

Surviving are: her children, Gloria Hiott, Peter Bessinger, Greta Bessinger, Daniel Bessinger, Gail Brownlee, and Willie G. Bessinger, all of Bamberg, and David Bessinger of Girard, Georgia; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her son, Kirk Andrew Bessinger; granddaughter, Lynn Brownlee; and a brother, Fred Griessbach.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Ehrhardt Memorial Lutheran Church, 2551 Lowcountry Highway, Ehrhardt.  Interment will follow in South End Cemetery, Carlisle Street, Bamberg.
