Glen Hiers

Mr. Glen Wyatt Hiers, 37, of Varnville, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020.

Born November 11, 1982 in Colleton County, he was a son of Tatnell Oswald Zahler, III and June Hiers Zahler.  He was employed at Ferguson Forest Products.  He loved mechanic work and could work on anything.  Glen loved his family and friends and was a wonderful father, son, and brother.  He was kind-hearted and would do anything for anyone.  He is now the sun, the wind, the water, the earth, and the spirit, and finally learned the secret to life’s little wonders.

Surviving are: his parents of Varnville; girlfriend, Mary Ann Delair of Varnville; sons, Glen Wyatt Hiers, Jr., Brian Gunner Hiers, Jonathan Nicholas Hiers, and Bentley Gage Hiers; step-daughters, Lindsey Marie Delair and Delilah Ross Delair; sisters, Toby Zahler of Hampton, Logan Renee Zahler of Early Branch, and Reba Gertrude Sams-Sumpter of Fairbanks, Alaska; special friends, Russell Mixon and Robert Crosby; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 o’clock, Friday morning, July 17, 2020 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel.  Interment will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
