Ginger Rose Crosby, 78, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 from complications due to Alzheimer's. Ginger was born in Walterboro, SC where she attended Walterboro High School and excelled in sports. After school she moved to Charleston SC, married the love of her life, Dennis, and started her family. Later she moved to Charlotte, NC with her husband and children, then to Birmingham where she lived the past 38 years.
Ginger was a true southern lady. She was a lively, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Tennis was her passion and fueled her competitive nature and her love of interacting with her friends.
Ginger is survived by her husband of 58 years Dennis Crosby; her sons Dennis, Jr. (Kim), Rodney, and Kevin; and her grandchildren, Tyler, Adam, Clay, Tore and Ginger; and siblings, Bonnie Strickland, Neyle Robinson (Leo) and Danny Crosby (Lynah).
Special people in her life were her lifelong friend, Rosalyn Barkowitz; sister-in-law, Lynah Crosby, who was always there for her; nurse, Harvis Harper, who cared for her son Rod for the past 33 years and for her through her fight with dementia and Annie Mwai who comforted her in her last years.

A memorial service for her will be held at 10 am, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel; followed by a gathering for friends and family at the Doctor's Creek Baptist Church, 126 Doctors Creek Road, Walterboro, SC at 1pm.
