Geraldine Kinard Parnell

Mrs. Geraldine Kinard Parnell, 82, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Lodge while under the care of Amedisys Hospice.  She was the loving wife of fifty-six years to the late Mr. Ewell Clinton Parnell, Jr.

Born July 22, 1937 in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Kinard and the late Marie Priester Kinard.  She was a devoted homemaker and was a talented seamstress.   A good southern cook, she enjoyed being with her family, talking with her friends, and planting flowers.

Surviving are: a son, Dean Parnell and his wife Kathy of Lodge; two daughters, Brenda Parnell Gibson and Jan Parnell Miller and her husband Jason all of Lodge; two brothers, Gerald Kinard and his wife Shirley and Ronnie Kinard all of Walterboro; a sister, Sally Fender and her husband McCray of Walterboro; six grandchildren, Roger Alan Miller, Karen Jones, Heather Seagrove, Christopher Gibson, Kim Burnett, and Jason Parnell; seven great grandchildren, C.J. Gibson, Tyler Pendrey, Cole Burnett, Hunter Seagrove, Gunner Seagrove, Jayden Parnell, and Dillon Parnell; one great great grandchild, Addison; and her beloved dog, “Sugar”.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Dale Parnell and Dennis Clinton Parnell; and a son-in-law, Eddie Gibson.  She is also survived by her beloved caregivers, Patty Fender, Barbie Brandt, Rosa Mixon, and Wendy Anderson.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, September 27, 2019, from the graveside at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.  The Reverend Danny Fogle officiating.
