Mr. George Carroll Reardon, 81, of Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Tuesday morning, October 2, 2012, at the Oakwood Health Care Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Thursday morning, October 4, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Fr. Jeffery Kendall officiating. The Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
A native of Cleardon County, he was born December 24, 1930, and was a son of the late Phillip Boone Reardon and the late Mary Lorina Reardon. He was retired from the South Carolina Highway Department where he was employed with the Survey Crew as an Engineer. He was a communicant of Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Walterboro and Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing.
Surviving are: his wife of fifty years, Mrs. Alma Jean Pinckney Reardon; two sons, James Hugh Strickland of Walterboro and John Strickland of Anderson; four daughters, Nancy Berelc and her husband Don of Hartwell, Georgia, Kathie Ard and her husband Allen of Andrews, Mary Lyons of Saint George, and Gloria Todd and her husband Ernie of Conway; and one sister, Nell Welch of Goose Creek. There are fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren who also survive.
