George Jackson

George Andrew Jackson, known by many as “Jack”, age 82, of Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Friday morning, December 14, 2012, at his residence under the care of Amedisys Hospice.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, December 16, 2012, from the graveside at Grace Advent Christian Churchyard, 398 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Born July 12, 1930, a native of LaGrange, Indiana, he was a son of the late Jack and Ophelia Stringfield Jackson. He served his country faithfully for nine years in the United States Navy having seen action during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired produce manager from Bi-Lo in Walterboro and was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church. He was a talented craftsman and will be remembered for his work ethic and dedication to his family.

Surviving are: his wife of sixty-one years, Mrs. Susie Ann Herndon Jackson; a son, George Allen Jackson and his wife Janna of Bluffton; three daughters, Sue Ellen Hiers of Walterboro, Regina Thomas and her husband Dan of Walterboro, and Paula Anne Jackson of Walterboro; and a brother, Frank Dennis of Hunnington, Indiana. There are six grandchildren, Stephanie Boyles, George Allen Jackson, Jr., Andrew Fowler, Jennifer Jackson, Anthony Hiers, and Brad Treu, II; as well as four great grandchildren, Cody Grubbs, Cierrah Boyles, Brenden Fowler, and Madison Treu that also survive.
