Mr. George Louie Hiers, Sr., 72, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Louie was born November 14, 1939 in Colleton County and was a son of the late Louie Capers Hiers and Reba Davis Hiers. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse, was of the Mormon faith and was a member of Evergreen Masonic Lodge # 153. Mr. Louie loved fishing and playing softball, but will be most remembered for the love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are: his wife, Mary Ann Hiers; children, Linda Hiers of Varnville, Dobie Hiers and his wife Debbie of Varnville, and Jody Hiers and his fiancé© Cynthia of Beaufort; grandchildren, Nicholas Ginn and his wife Chastity, Jeremy Ginn, Kimberly Williams, Amber Lynn Hiers, Marybeth Hiers, Meggan Leigh Hiers, and Brittney Renee Hiers; great grandchildren, Austin Capers Hiers Ginn, Wesley Ashton Hiers Ginn, Catherine Marie Hiers Brisboise, and Camden Hunter Hiers; sister, Ann Smyly of Ruffin; brothers, Marshall Hiers of Varnville, Dan Hiers of Hampton, Douglas Hiers of Varnville and Terry Hiers of Varnville; and many nieces and nephews.
