Mr. George Doyle Heath, Jr. 77, of Florence, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, March 24, 2022 at McLeod Medical Center of the Pee Dee.
Born May 17, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Reverend George Doyle Heath, Sr. and Sara Stiles Heath. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a graduate of Montreat-Anderson College and Pembroke University. Mr. George was a former principal at Ehrhardt Elementary School and was a retired Sales Representative for Phillip-Morris, Incorporated. After retiring in Olar, he loved life on the farm, raising his chickens and cows. More than anything, Mr. George loved his family. He and his late wife dedicated their lives to taking care of their sons, George and Thomas, who both had MD. He also loved his little dog, Macon, who was his constant sidekick and companion.
Surviving are:his sister, Jane Heath Owens of Little River; nephew, David B. Stanaland, III of Ocean Isle, North Carolina; niece, Virginia B. Warren and her children of Little River; and special cousins, Tom and Kaye Jones of Columbia and their daughter, Katie Moydell, and Rex and Beth Taylor of Blythewood. Mr. George was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Thomas Heath; and their two sons, George Doyle Heath, III and Thomas Perry Heath.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Tuesday morning, March 29, 2022 at Ehrhardt Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Road, Ehrhardt.
