Mr. George Benjamin Davis, 76, of Round O, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at his residence. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing him knew he was a simple man, a mans man, and a cowboy from Texas. He never met a stranger and was the rock for his family, which was the center of his life.
Born March 21, 1938, in Granbury, Texas, he was a son of the late Ned Davis and Ruby Eaton Davis. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a retired employee of Exxon and in his retirement worked as a foreman with Deerfield Plantation.
Surviving are: his wife, Wanda Sue Davis of Round O; children, George Benny Davis of Campobello, Shawna Collins of Monroe, NC, and Jerry Davis of Round O; grandchildren, James Davis, Robert Davis, Cody Davis and Aspen Davis; great grandchildren, Lucy Davis and Emma Davis; brother, Glen Davis of Granbury, Texas; sister, Nadine Green of Granbury, Texas; and his best friend Droopy, his beagle. He was preceded in death by a son, James Ned Davis; brothers, Eddie Davis and Garland Davis; and a sister, Annie Beth Bortz.
