George Patrick Bumgardner, 72, of Walterboro, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Monday evening, August 29, 2022, at his residence.
Born September 22, 1949, in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son to the late George Daniel Bumgardner and the late Anna Mae Taylor Bumgardner.
George was a man who loved his family, friends and life in general. When George loved something, he loved hard. Especially his K-9 companion, Mishka; a long haired German Shepherd. He had a thirty year career in computer technology with the MYSIS Company. His favorite hobbies included, but were not limited to, hunting, solitaire, singing karaoke, fishing and watching old western movies; “Gun Smoke” being his favorite western of all time. George was known for his favorite snack food of Sharp Cheddar Cheese and Pickles.
George is survived by: his daughter Monica Wallace; step daughter, Hope Zahornacky; step-sons, Allen Purvis and John Purvis; grandchildren, Alyssa Phillips, April Carstetter and Ronnie Carstetter; step-grandchildren, George Zahornacky, Katie Purvis and Melinda Purvis; step-great-grandchildren, Emmitt, Declan, Alyssa and Tobias and a sister, Cathy Thaxton. He is also survived by his special friends, Lillie McCabe and Charlee Bumgardner.
