VARNVILLE-Mrs. Genevieve Hunter Muckenhirn, 70, of 652 Smith Street, entered into her eternal rest on Sunday, April 1, 2012, in Varnville.
Funeral services will be held 11: AM, Wednesday, April 4, at the Varnville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly officiating. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery.
Mrs. Muckenhirn was born July 28, 1941 in Townsend, Georgia and was a daughter of the late Colon P. Hunter, Sr. and Ruth Clary Hunter. She was a cosmetologist with The Hair After Salon. She was a member of the Varnville First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class, member of the Wednesday Night Supper Committee and a member of the W.M.U. She was very creative in decorating and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are: her husband of 46 years, Earl R. Muckenhirn, daughter, Andrea Murphy of Katy, Texas, grandchildren, Laura and Robert Murphy of Katy, Texas, brother, Glenn Hunter and his wife Betty of Orangeburg, sisters, Patricia Zeigler of Fairfax and Francine Smiley of Varnille and sister in law, Sara Hunter of Hampton. She was predeceased by brothers, C.P. "Hoot" Hunter, Jr. and James Hunter.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Varnville First Baptist Church, PO Box 306, Varnville, SC 29944.
