Geneva Deloach Jarrell

Mrs. Geneva DeLoach Jarrell, affectionately known as “NeNe”, 59, of Estill, entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock, Sunday, April 13, 2014 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Varnville, with The Reverend Dr. Tommy Kelly and The Reverend Phillip Crocker. Interment will follow in DeLoach Cemetery.

Born December 14, 1954 in Hampton County and was a daughter of the late Leroy DeLoach and Jennie Long DeLoach. She attended Nixville Church of God of Prophecy and Sand Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Geneva touched many lives, always caring for others before herself, and always doing anything she could to help anyone. She will be remembered for her heart of gold; but most of all, she will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are: her husband, Jimmie Michael Jarrell, Sr. of Estill; children, Jimmie Michael “Jim” Jarrell, II and his wife Missy of Estill, Tanya Michelle Jarrell Dempsey and her husband Jeremy of Varnville, Jessica Renee Jarrell, who preceded her in death, and Erin DeLoach of Estill; two that she raised and loved as her own, Tara Farmer of Lady’s Island and Danielle Tuten of Hampton; grandchildren, Austin Dempsey, Gage Dempsey, Cain Dempsey, Melyndi Jarrell and McKinna Jarrell; brothers, Ravenel DeLoach of Ridgeland, Marvin DeLoach of Pineland and Daniel DeLoach of Estill; sisters, Jennie Voncile Shipes of Grays and Jeanette Crosby of Grays; sister-in-law, Betty DeLoach of Charleston; numerous nieces and nephews; and two great-great nieces, Nala Tuten and Presley Tuten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Arthur DeLoach; brother, Rogers DeLoach; and sister, Willadean Myrick.
