Mr. General Allen Hickman, 57, of Junction Road, Lodge, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Roper Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Carter's Ford Baptist Church in Lodge. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hickman was born July 22, 1954 in Kingstree and was a son of Earline Pollard Hickman and the late Marion Hickman. He was a Water Operator for the Town of Ehrhardt, volunteer Fire Fighter and First Responder for Lodge Rescue Squad, and was a Reserve Policeman for the Ehrhardt Police Department. He had just completed certification for Water Treatment, Distribution and BioTesting. He attended Carter's Ford Baptist Church and was a member of Hope Masonic Lodge, No. 122. General was an avid fisherman, was always known as someone that helped anyone in need and was always there for others; but most of all, anyone who knew General, knew of the love he had for his family and especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: his wife, Marie Hiers Hickman of Lodge; mother, Earline Hickman of Cades; son, Joe Rhodes, Jr. of Lodge; daughter, Penny Rhodes of Walterboro; grandchildren, Calliana Dixie Rhodes, Colton Jeffrey Rhodes and Scott Allan Fletcher; brothers, Harry Hickman (Ivy Lee) of Scrampton, Mark Hickman (Diane) of Cades, Kevin Hickman (Kim) of Hartsville and James Hickman (Anna Lee) of Lake City; and sisters, Cindy Chavis (Bernie) of Canton, NC, Rose Evans (David) of New Zion and Cathy Fullbright (Marshall) of Felton.
