Mrs. Geanie Mae Thomas, 74, of Rodges Street in Pooler, Georgia, formerly of the Hudson Mill Community, entered into her eternal rest Wednesday evening, September 16, 2009, at Saint Josephs Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. She was the wife of the late Mr. Jesse Eric Thomas.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 oclock Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in a private ceremony at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ruffin.
Mrs. Thomas was born October 21, 1934, in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Eugene Padgett, Sr. and the late Lucile DeWitt Padgett. She devoted her life to her home and caring for her family. She possessed a special love for her gardening, reading and traveling.
Surviving are: a daughter, Judy Thomas of Georgia; a son, Leland Thomas of Walterboro; a brother, Franklin Padgett of Walterboro; and a sister, Betty Nettles of Walterboro. There are four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lonnie Thomas and Michael Thomas.
