Mr. Gaylord James Fuller, Jr., 69, of Hiers Corner Road, Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Saturday evening, February 5, 2011, at his residence under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Wednesday morning, February 9, 2011, from Doctors Creek Baptist Church, 126 Doctors Creek Road, Walterboro. Interment with full military honors will follow in the churchyard.
Mr. Fuller was born May 30, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a son of the late Gaylord James Fuller, Sr. and the late Rose Marie Khol Fuller. He served his country faithfully in the military, having first served in the United States Marine Corps and then in the South Carolina National Guard. He worked for South Carolina Electric and Gas at their Canadys Plant having retired as a Control Room Operator. He was a member of Doctors Creek Baptist Church. He had an avid love for hunting and fishing, and was a member of Cottageville Hunting Club. Gaylord will be remembered as a gentle and soft man, who was a wonderful provider and father as well as a man who was generous as possible to others.
Surviving are: his wife of forty-eight years, Mrs. Virginia Floyd Fuller; a son, Robert Allen Fuller of Walterboro; a daughter, Robin Fuller Beach of Walterboro; and two brothers, Gerald Fuller and his wife Nancy of Hamilton, Ohio and Gregory Fuller and his wife Helen of Hammond, Louisiana. There are two grandchildren, James Beach and his wife Brittany of Walterboro and Raven Dakota Fuller of Brunson; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Beach.
