Gaye Price

June 15, 1947 — November 26, 2016

Mrs. Virginia Gaynell Price, affectionately known by many as “Gaye”, age 69, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday morning, November 26, 2016, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, November 30, 2016, from Sandy Dam United Methodist Church, 3422 Charleston Highway, Walterboro.  The Reverend David Cox officiating.  Interment will follow in the churchyard.

Born June 15, 1947 in Walterboro, she was a daughter James G. “Jim” Drawdy and the late Virginia Crosby Drawdy.   She received her associate’s degree from Columbia College.  Gaye worked for many years as a secretary under architect John Truluck prior to working as a medical transcriptionist for Dr. Bennie “B.C.” Phillips.  She was a member of Sandy Dam United Methodist Church in Walterboro and will always be remembered for her love of history.

Surviving are: her son, Henry Sherwood “H.S.” Price, III and his wife Teresa Lynn Price of Walterboro; a loving and longtime friend, Johnny Albert Crosby; two brothers, James G. Drawdy, Jr. of Nesbit, Mississippi and Timothy Lehe Drawdy, Sr. of Walterboro; and two sisters, Gloria Mazzone of West Columbia and Judy Moehlenbrock of Greenville.  There are two grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Price and Billie Rose Price.
