Furman "Skeeter" Benton

Mr. Furman Benton, known by many as “Skeeter”, age 74 of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, February 17, 2021, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro while under the care of Amedisys Hospice.

Born April 10, 1946, in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Kirk Benton and the late Merivan Kinard Benton.  He worked in construction.

Surviving are: a daughter, Chrissy Hampton and her husband Carl of Walterboro; a brother, Rudolph Benton; and three grandchildren, Atiana Lemacks, Briana Brown, Kendall Brown, Jr.   He was preceded in death by three brothers, Adolph Benton, Lee Benton, and Randy Benton; and three sisters, Mae Smoak, Virginia Benton, and Hazel Robertson.
