Fred Fraser, Sr.

Mr. Fred L. Fraser, Sr., 78, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday morning, August 10, 2022, at his residence.   He was the husband of the late Mrs. Doris Jennings Fraser.

Born December 10, 1943, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Witsell Fraser, Sr. and the late Essie Lou Evans Fraser.   Fred served our country faithfully in the South Carolina National Guard where he retired after as a training officer.  He was a member of Bedon Baptist Church in Walterboro and was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.  He was a Master Mason holding his membership at Unity Masonic Lodge, No. 55 – Ancient Free Masons in Walterboro.  Fred will forever be remembered for his love of the outdoors and family, as well as for being a hardworking and honest friend to all.

Surviving are: three sons, Terry Fraser, Sr. of Walterboro, Fred Fraser, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Round O, and Chuck Fraser of Walterboro; two brothers, Witsell Fraser, Sr. and Gerald Fraser; and four sisters, Florence Nettles, Catherine Flader, Deloris Stevens, and Mae Hancock.   There are four grandchildren, Terry Fraser, Jr., Michael Fraser, Sr. (Linzay), Angel Fraser, and Kayla Fraser; and four great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Michael, Jr., Ashlynn, and Noah; as well as a sister-in-law, Letha Ramsey.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin; and three sisters, Gale, Martha, and Frances.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, August 13, 2022, from Bedon Baptist Church, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro.   The Reverend Dr. Jack Moore officiating.   Interment with military honors and Masonic rights will follow in the churchyard.
