Fred A. McMillan

Mr. Fred Ansel McMillan, 75, of Green Pond, entered into eternal rest Tuesday morning, December 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by the love of his family.

Born October 9, 1950, in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Henry Sanders McMillan and Vivian Kinsey McMillan. Fred was a retired timber broker, having owned and operated a successful timber business, Ozbolt and Register, Inc., with his friend and partner, the late Wayne Register, for many years. He was a lifelong member of Green Pond Baptist Church. Fred dearly loved his church and church family and served in many capacities for the church throughout his life. Fred became the church pianist at the young age of 13 and held that position until the last year of his life. Fred also served as a Deacon. He had a lifelong love for music and enjoyed playing music with anyone he could. Most of all, Fred loved his family and enjoyed spending any time he could with his grandchildren.

Surviving are: his wife of 53 years, Alice Remley McMillan of Green Pond; children, Grace McMillan Streit of Shiloh, Illinois, Patrick Kessler McMillan of Green Pond, and Sarah McMillan Stewart of Green Pond; grandchildren, Julia Eliza McMillan, Joseph Michael Streit, Jr., Vivian Monroe Streit, Ella Leora Streit, Zoey Mae Stewart, Karla Grace McMillan, Daniel Louis Stewart; as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Karl McMillan and Sandy McMillan.

A memorial service will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, December 13, 2025, at Green Pond Baptist Church, 12295 Green Pond Highway, Green Pond.  The Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating.
