Franklyn Deloach

Mr. Franklyn DeLoach, Sr., 90, of Nixville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday morning, December 16, 2022, at his residence after an extended illness.

Born November 11, 1932, in Furman, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Eugene DeLoach and Mary Long DeLoach of Furman, South Carolina.  He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He worked at Westinghouse in Hampton, South Carolina, where he retired after 39 years.

Mr. DeLoach loved his family and friends.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially gardening.  He was a member of Varnville Baptist Church where he was very active until he became ill.  During his illness, he was taken care of in his home by hospice, his wife, his daughter Sylvia and children.

Surviving are: his wife of 67 years, Virginia Donehue DeLoach; sons, Franklin DeLoach, Jr. and Brian DeLoach, both of Hampton, South Carolina; daughters, Sylvia DeLoach and Dianne Walsh (David), both of Hampton, South Carolina; grandchildren, Heather Isham, Jennifer Padgett, Alexia Smokes, Scott DeLoach (Naomi), Michael DeLoach (Laurin), Cole DeLoach, Kayla DeLoach, John DeLoach, Stephen Stanley, and Nathan Stanley; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer, Marion and Cyler; and sisters, Lillian, Leslie, Inez, and Lucy.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock, Monday morning, December 19, 2022 at Steep Bottom Baptist Church, 2035 Steep Bottom Road, Estill. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
