Mr. Franklin Delano Davis, Sr., affectionately called Pop, age 76, of Rowe Lane in Round O, entered into his state of eternal rest Monday morning, November 15, 2010, at the Hospice Center in Mount Pleasant. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Shirley Juanita Walker Davis.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Wednesday morning, November 17, 2010, from Bethlehem Baptist Church, 12898 Round O Road, Round O. Interment will follow in Plantation Memorial Gardens, Highway 17-A South, Moncks Corner.
Mr. Davis was born April 3, 1934, in Stark, Florida and was a son of the late Washington Lafayette Davis and the late Jessie Katherine Howard Davis. He was a retired tile contractor from Murray Tile Company in Charleston where he worked for thirty years. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he was active in the churchs brotherhood group. He will be remembered for being a simple country man, enjoying fishing, cooking, and gardening.
Surviving are: a son, Franklin Delano Davis, Jr. of Round O; three daughters, June Banis of Moncks Corner, Lisa Douglas of Denver, Colorado, and Tammy Nicholas of Summerville; two brothers, Gene Davis and David Davis both of Middleburg, Florida; and a sister, Betty Gutierez of Detroit, Michigan. There are eight grandchildren, Rusty Davis, Trevor Davis, Joel Banis, John Michael Banis, Carl F. Douglas, Jr., Kathlyn Davis, Tyler Davis, and Amber Nicholas; and five great grandchildren, Caleb Davis, Cole Davis, Riley Banis, Nicholas Padgett, and Lillian Rose Marie Rodriguez that also survive.
