Mr. Franklin Elijah Polk, affectionately known by Frank, age 69, entered into rest Sunday morning, January 25, 2015, at his home in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Churchyard, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro.
Born August 11, 1945, a native of Colleton County, he was a son of the late Palmer Polk and the late Dorothy Stanley Polk. He was the owner of Frank Polk Painting Company and also had worked in general construction. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Walterboro. Frank was an outdoorsman who loved ducks as well as enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his garden and spending time with animals and tending to the needs of the farm. He owned an old style tractor in which he devoted a great time to its restoration and was one of his most prized possessions.
Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Vicky Martin Polk; four children, Sharon Brantley and her fiancée, Guerry Felder of Chapin, John Franklin Polk and his wife Shannon of Scottsdale, Arizona, Daniel Mock of Fort Worth, Texas, and Christopher Andrew Mock and his wife Talika of Walterboro; two brothers, James Polk of Yemassee and Robert Polk of Washington, North Carolina; and a sister, Emma Lee Polk of Walterboro. There are eleven grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Laverne Lowery Martin; and he devoted Chocolate Cocker Spaniel, Huck that also survive.
