Franklin Hicks

Mr. Franklin Delano Hicks, 60, of Ridgeville, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at MUSC.



Funeral services will be held 7 pm, Saturday, October 23, 2010, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel.



Mr. Hicks was born November 14, 1949 in Charleston and was a son of the late James Richard Hicks and Creola Deas Hicks. He was a retired police deputy with the Colleton County Sheriffs Office and served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Old Fort Masonic Lodge, was a Master BBQ Judge and was of the Baptist faith. He loved the Edisto River and will be remembered as a great friend by many.



Surviving are: his wife, Linda Baxley Hicks of Ridgeville; daughter, Regina Grace Hicks of Folly Beach; brother, James Robert Hicks, Sr. of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Barbara Deas of Givhans; nephew, James Robert Jamie Hicks, Jr. of Ridgeville; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Hope Hicks.
