Franklin Herndon

Mr. William Franklin Herndon, 72, of Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his residence, under the care of Amedysis Hospice.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, April 7, 2014 at Old Field Creek Cemetery in Ruffin.

Born November 15, 1941 in Ruffin, he was a son of the late Levy Owens Herndon and Elma Givens Jones Herndon. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Ruffin Charge. He was a retired farmer; but was an excellent mechanic who loved tinkering with old motors.

Surviving are: his brother, Larry Herndon and his wife Aubrey of Ruffin; sister-in-law, Faye C. Jones of Ruffin; special nephew, Josh Jones of Ruffin and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Jones and Lewis Jones.
