Francis Alan Gibson, known by all as “Frank”, age 74, of Summerville, entered into rest Monday evening, February 3, 2025, at his residence.
Born June 6, 1950, in Bernardston, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Luther Warren Gibson and the late Eva Nettie Townsend Gibson. He served our country faithfully in the United States Army Special Forces and was a retired employee of Caterpillar Inc. He was a member of Little Rock Holiness Church in Cottageville where he proudly served on the Safety Committee. Frank will always be remembered for the love he had for his motorcycle as well as his talent for wood crafting. He was a true gun enthusiast. One of Frank’s great accomplishments was repairing and donating over six hundred computers that he personally dedicated for children’s use.
Surviving are: his wife of fifty-two years, Mrs. Nancy Merritt Gibson; a son, Doug Gibson and his wife Heidi of Summerville; two grandchildren, Edward and Parker; three brothers, Ted Gibson, Warren Gibson, and Ronald Townsend and a sister-in-law, Tammy Beaghans.
Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, February 11, 2025, from the graveside at Little Rock Holiness Churchyard, 20991 Lowcountry Highway, Cottageville. The Reverend Dr. John Glenn Creel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
