Frank Fennessey

March 29, 1918 — July 3, 2011

Mr. Frank P. Fennessey, 93, of Summerton, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 3, 2011 at The Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock, Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Summerton.

Mr. Fennessey was born March 29, 1918 in St. Louis, Missouri and was a son of the late Joseph Fennessey and Aurelia Austin Fennessey. He dedicated his career to our country by serving in the United States Army. "Mr. Frank", as he was known by everyone, loved to make people laugh and was always telling a joke, even up to the day that he went to be with the Lord.. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, woodworking, painting and going to the beach. But most of all, he loved and cherished his family, always wanting them to be together whenever possible. He and his wife, Maria, were the first couple to be residents at The Veteran's Victory House.

Surviving are: his wife, Maria Cerreta Fennessey; children, Thomas Paul Fennessey and his wife Margaret of Summerton and Frank Fennessey and his wife Nancy of Campobello; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Gormley; a brother, Eugene Fennessey; and a sister, Rosemary Fennessey.
