Francis Cummings Jones

July 31, 1921 - September 21, 2013

Mr. Francis Cummings Jones, 92, of 8258 Lodge Highway, Lodge, died Saturday morning, September 21, 2013 at his residence, under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina. He was the husband of the late Doris Murdaugh Jones, to whom he was married for 65 years.

Funeral services will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, September 23, 2013 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel. Interment will follow in the Lodge United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born July 13, 1921 in Ashton and was a son of the late V.W. Jones and Leila Cummings Jones. He was a member of Lodge United Methodist Church and was a retired television and radio repairman and a retired farmer. He enjoyed fishing, sitting on his front porch, but especially enjoyed riding around his farm. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by: his son, Mickey Jones and his wife Linda of Lodge; grandchildren, Michelle Kinsey and her husband Tony of Bamberg, Mitch Jones and his wife Laura Jean of Houston, Texas, and Christy Carter and her husband Scott of Lodge; great grandchildren, Josh Kinsey, Ashley Kinsey, Triston Jones and Presley Jones; and brothers, Woodrow Jones of Lodge and Dr. Marshall Jones and his wife Marian of Lodge. He was preceded in death by brothers, Voyle Jones, Donald Jones, and Lamar Jones; and a sister, Eulalie Jones Ackerman.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Care of SC, especially Pam Thomas, Emily Lewallyn, Allison Hammond and Nikki Fowler for the wonderful care and love they have given to Mr. Francis during his illness.
