Mrs. Frances Virginia Hacker Lightsey, 79, of 435 Hannah Street, Brunson, entered into her state of eternal rest Wednesday evening, December 9, 2009, at Unihealth Post Acute Care of the Lowcountry in Estill following an extended illness.
Private funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at Brunson Cemetery.
Mrs. Lightsey was born February 21, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio and was a daughter of the late Raymond Hacker and the late Minda Leveda Loy Hacker Lineberry. She was a member of Brunson United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: her husband of forty-three years, Mr. Hugh Tuten Lightsey; and two daughters, Martha Logan and her husband James of Summerville and Edna Harrison Crews of Beaufort. There are seven grandchildren, Michelle Lovell and her husband Ron, Tawney Jefferies, Paris Logan, Gene Logan and his wife Laura, Michael Crews and his wife Amy, Louise Crews, and Catherine Crews Rainsford; as well as eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild that also survives.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a memorial be directed in her memory to the following: Hampton County Community Animal Shelter, 460 Cemetery Road, Varnville, South Carolina 29944; or to, Coastal Community Foundation, for use with their Operations Fund, 90 Mary Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29403; or to, The Salvation Army NHQ, 615 Slaters Lane, Alexandria, Virginia 22314.
