Mr. Everett Allen Smoak, age 59, entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 22, 2009, at the Medical University Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 27, 6:30 p.m. " 8:30 p.m., at the Hendersonville Baptist Church, 893 Bachelor Hill Road, Walterboro, SC.
Mr. Smoak was born March 7, 1950, in Colleton County, South Carolina and was a son of the late Josh Kirkland Smoak and the late Kathryn Laverne Kicklighter Smoak. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy. He was a retired electrician with South Carolina Electric and Gas Company. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a generous, big hearted person, loving to help everyone. He dearly loved his dog, Puddles. He was formerly married to Carol Patricia Smoak.
Surviving are: his wife, Mae Smoak of Walterboro, SC; one son, Edward K. Smoak and his wife Dianne of Walterboro; one daughter, Susan Morris and fianc Alan Durr of Walterboro; one brother, Arnold Smoak of Walterboro; six grandchildren, DeLana Weidenbach, Joshua Weidenbach, Jonathan Smoak, Randy H. Morris, Jr., Alan Joseph Durr and Dakota Faith Durr; his sidekick, Ben DeWitt of Walterboro; and many special friends.
