Evelyn Pellum

Mrs. Evelyn Bishop Pellum, 84, of Islandton, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at her residence. She was the widow of Mr. W.R. Pellum, to whom she was married for sixty seven years.



Funeral services will be held 4 pm, Saturday, April 18, 2009 in New Hope Advent Christian Church. Interment followed in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery.



Mrs. Pellum was born May 31, 1924 in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late William Jasper Bishop and Allie Murdaugh Bishop. She was a member of New Hope Advent Christian Church, where she was a church clerk and a chairperson for the Prayer Group.



Surviving are: her children, Judy Valentine and her husband Mendell of Walterboro and Ryan L. Pellum of Islandton; daughter-in-law, Mary Pellum of Walterboro; brother, Reverend Herbert Bishop of Johns Island; and grandchildren, Brandy DuBoise, William Benjamin Pellum, Jr., Stephen Valentine, Angie Colbert, Sherri Groves, Donna Hawkins, Sheila Ackerman, Dorinda Player, Jodi Pellum and Greg Pellum; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, William Benjamin Bill Pellum and Liston Pellum.
