Evelyn Crosby

Mrs. Evelyn Linder Crosby, age 92, entered into rest Wednesday morning, November 18, 2020, at her home in Round O while under the care of Agape Hospice.

Born July 7, 1928, in Smoaks, South Carolina, she was the last surviving of nine children of the late Danny Linder and the late Bertha Barnes Linder.  She made for her family a loving Christian home and always gave to others and demonstrated the love that a servant’s heart possessed.  She delighted in cooking and truly lived for her family.  She was a member of North Walterboro Baptist Church where she was active in her attendance and in the seniors Sunday School Class.

Surviving are:  her sons, The Reverend Godfrey G. Ritter and his wife Koby of Round O and Gregory G. Ritter of Cottageville; five grandchildren, Raegan Rodriguez (Luis), Jonah Ritter (Diamond), Holly Ritter, April Raymond O’Neal, and Joey Raymond; and a host of beloved great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Joe Smoak, Godfrey Ritter, Sr., and Esdorn Crosby; her daughter, Debbie Smoak Raymond; her son-in-law, Roger Raymond; and a grandson, Johnathan Raymond.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in her memory to: North Walterboro Baptist Church, 2177 North Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:15pm Saturday afternoon, November 21, 2020, from North Walterboro Baptist Church, 2177 North Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.  The Reverend Godfrey Ritter officiating.   Interment will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Churchyard, 1150 Possum Corner Road, Walterboro.   The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony Saturday beginning at 12 noon in the church sanctuary.
