Mrs. Eva Greta Harrison Williams, 78, of Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro, a former resident of Olar, entered into rest Friday evening, June 21, 2013, at her residence under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina. She was the loving wife of sixty years before his death in 2010 to the late Mr. J W Williams.

Funeral services will be conducted 6 o’clock Monday evening, June 24, 2013, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.

The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony until 8 o’clock that evening in the Harbiston Stateroom of the mortuary.

Born July 29, 1934, a native of Bamberg, South Carolina she was raised in Olar by her parents, the late Lonnie Holmes Harrison and the late Estelle “Telle” Still Harrison. She made Walterboro her home in 1977. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and will be fondly recalled as a loving mother and grandma who loved shoes and clothes as much as her granddaughters do. She loved spending time in her rocking chair and porch swing and also was an avid collector of pig figurines having over three hundred in her collection.

Surviving are: six children, Bobby Williams and his wife Gloria of Branchville, Jimmy Williams and his wife Brenda of North, Jerry Williams and his wife Jill of Harlem, Georgia, Estelle “Telle” W. Still and her husband Jerry of Barnwell, Karen W. Flores and her husband Manuel of Walterboro, and Allen Williams of Lexington, Texas; and three brothers, Bobby Green Harrison and his wife Pearline of North Augusta, Juttie Harrison and his wife Jean of Marion, Illinois, and Augustus “Gus” Harrison and his wife Barbara of Louisville, Kentucky. There are ten grandchildren, Donna Williams of Branchville, Julie W. Murphy and her husband Carl of LeHigh Acres, Florida and The Reverend Lisa W. Hood and her husband Matt of Forrest City, North Carolina, Anna W. Gagner and her husband Tim and Jayson Williams and his wife Amanda all of Grovetown, Georgia, Brookey S. Taylor and her husband Anthony and Jared Still and his wife Lindsay all of Barnwell, Jacqulyn “Jackie” B. Smoak and her husband Brett of Walterboro, Justin Williams of Hanahan, and Michael Williams of Lexington, Texas; and fifteen great grandchildren, Sierra Jennings, Noah Murphy, Anna Grace, P.J., Preston, Ansleigh, and Alayna Williams, Britney and Brinkley Taylor, Grayson and Declan Still, Olivia, Cynthia, and Jackson Smoak, and Roxanne Williams that also survive. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jack Barwick; a brother, L.H. Harrison; and a sister, Ruby Merl “Toby” Harrison.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina to include two of her nurses, Pam and Lee; as well as her loving longtime caregiver Roslyn Johnson for the dedication and care showed to not only Eva but also her family during her illness and death.
