Mrs. Eudell Herndon Priester, 74, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday afternoon, July 2, 2011, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, July 5, 2011, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro, with The Reverend Michael Frederickson and Chaplain Neil Corkley officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mrs. Priester was born August 16, 1936, in Williams, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Freddie Thomas Herndon, Sr. and the late Margie Cook Herndon. She worked for the Charleston Naval Shipyard where she was employed for thirty years retiring as a Controller. She was a former member of the Protective and Benevolent Order of Elks - Lodge No. 1988 Ladies Auxiliary and the Loyal Order of Moose - Lodge No. 1938. She possessed a love and appreciation for any flower that could possibly grow as well as in her spare time was an avid reader.
Surviving are: her husband of fifty-four years, Mr. Angus Priester; a son, Roger Priester and his wife Kerry of Walterboro; a daughter, Debbie Mitchell and her husband Mike of Walterboro; and a brother, Vernon Herndon and his wife Cookie of North Charleston. There is one grandchild, Mary Kathryn Priester who survives as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie T. Herndon, Jr.
