Ethel Williamson Carter

Mrs. Ethel Carter, 80, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 8, 2016 at her residence.  She was the widow of Mr. Bill Carter, to whom she was married for 57 years.

Graveside services will be held 3 pm, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Carter-Evans Family Cemetery, Jefferies Highway, Walterboro.

Born February 26, 1936 in West Columbia, she was a daughter of Charlie Williamson and Inez Ward Williamson.  She was a former seamstress at Smoaks Manufacturing and former cook at Tommy’s Circle C Truck Stop.  She enjoyed sewing, fishing, raising chickens and gardening.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Surviving are: her children, Teresa Evans and her husband Terry of Walterboro, Deborah Carter of Walterboro, Michael A. Carter, Sr. and his wife Paulette of Ruffin, and Isaac “Bo” Carter and his wife Kay of Waynesville, North Carolina; brothers, Johnny Williamson of Swansea, Bobby Williamson of Columbia, and Kenneth Williamson of Columbia; sister, Mary Williamson of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Carter; daughter, Cathy Carter; and grandson, Billy Carter.
