Ethel Morey Carter

Mrs. Ethel Morey Carter, 79, of Lexington, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at her residence. She was the widow of the late Herman Carter, to whom she was married to for 17 years.
Memorial services will be held Friday, April 22, 2016, at 11 o'clock, at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Gaston. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm, at Pine Grove Baptist Churchyard.
Born April 23, 1936 in Somers Point, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Esther Mary Souder Morey. She was a housewife and was a member of Christian Fellowship in Gaston. Mrs. Carter loved crafts and was devoted to her family.
Surviving are: her children, Randall Lawton of Lexington, Paul Lawton of Lexington, Sharon St. Germain (Dale) of Lexington, Eugene “Jimmy” Miller (Deborah) of Walterboro, and Margaret McCave (Lew), of Gaston. She had 26 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Ernie Miller and Allen Lawton, as well as a brother, Leroy Morey.
