Eloise Dyches Carter

Mrs. Eloise Dyches Carter, 85, of Ehrhardt, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. She was the widow of Mr. Moorer Carter.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock Monday, March 11, 2013 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Ehrhardt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 am until the hour of service at the church.

Mrs. Carter was born May 1, 1927 in Bamberg County and was the daughter of the late Carrie Bell Dyches and the granddaughter of the late Mary G. and Clifton C. Miller. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she was the Children’s Sunday School Teacher for 25 years and a Communion Steward for 20 years, and was also a member of the Young at Heart.

She is survived by: her sons, Vernon Carter (Elizabeth) of Lodge and Danny Carter (Susan) of Ehrhardt; daughter-in-law, June Kittrell Carter of Ehrhardt; grandchildren, Kimberly Carter Kinard (Michael) of Ehrhardt, Kendall Carter Tubbs of Aiken, Amber Carter of Summerville and Scott Carter (Christie) of Lodge; 2 great grandchildren, Kaden Kinard of Ehrhardt and Logan Tubbs of Aiken; a special niece, Bobbie Lee Moore of Branchville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Carter; and a brother, Earl Dyches.

The family will receive friends at the home of June Carter, 4401 Lodge Road, Ehrhardt.
