Elmer Warren

Mr. Elmer Barto Warren, 82, of 2601 Sniders Highway, Walterboro, died Sunday evening, October 19, 2008, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.



Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Tuesday morning, October 21, 2008, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend ONeal Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Doctors Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 126 Doctors Creek Road, Walterboro.



Mr. Warren was born September 16, 1926 in Miami , Florida and was a son of the late Elmer Warren and the late Jo Henry Ramsey Warren. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and at the time of his discharge had achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was a retired electrician and was of the Baptist Faith. He will be remembered for his love of videography and film making.



Surviving are: his wife: Mrs. Brenda Guffey Warren; a step-daughter, Brandy Guffey Brown and her husband LaMont of Walterboro; two step-sons, Bobby Guffey and his wife Bertie of Saint George and Billy Guffey and his wife Lana of Greenwood; a brother, A.J. Warren of Savannah, Georgia; and a sister, Juanita Brooks of Atlanta, Georgia. There are five grandchildren, Jaylin Cruz Brown, Starla Guffey, Ariana Guffey, Alara Guffey, and Kiera Guffey; two special cousins, Mae Givens Smoak of Ruffin and Kate Gaines of Deland, Florida; and two special friends Everett Smoak of Walterboro and Jack Luciani of Savannah, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lexie Warren and his sister, The Honorable Evelyn Shelley.
