Mrs. Ellen S. Garris, 58, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday morning, October 8, 2014, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Lynn Garris, Sr.
Born April 26, 1956, a native of Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Carroll Lemacks and the late Audrey Lois DeWitt Lemacks. Formerly she was a waitress at the Waffle House on Highway 63 in Walterboro. She attended Nova Church and will be fondly remembered for her love of reading and flowers as well as her special talent with cross stitch work.
Surviving are: two sons, Christopher C. Saunders and his wife Donna and Kenneth Lynn Garris, Jr. and his wife Paige both of Walterboro; a step-daughter, Tina Garris of St. George; and two sisters, Shirley "Nuben" Robertson of Walterboro and Janie Libby of Cottageville. There are five grandchildren, Dawson, Brantley, Kennedy, Katelynn and Jordan and seven step-grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Doug Garris; a brother, Jimmy Lemacks, Jr.; and a sister, Dianne Hartley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
