WALTERBORO- Mrs. Ellen V. Crosby DeWitt, 92, of 2283 Beach Road, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Colleton Medical Center. She was the widow of Eugene Wesley DeWitt.



Funeral services will be held 3 oclock, Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Tabor United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.



Mrs. DeWitt was born December 7, 1915 in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Eddie David Crosby and Hattie Isabel Savage Crosby. She was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church and was a housewife. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be remembered for her love of gardening and working on the farm.



Surviving are: her children, Ruby D. Fisk of Walterboro and James Eddie DeWitt of Walterboro; brother, Guy Crosby of Walterboro; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Reba DeWitt; son, Eugene Junior DeWitt; brothers, Blease, Richard, Russell, Earl and Hillie Crosby; and sisters, Hattie Mae Crosby and Eda Mae Colson; and 1 grandchild.
