Biography
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Ray, 78, of Ramsey Hill Road, Walterboro, entered into rest Thursday morning, October 24, 2013, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
A private family funeral service will be conducted from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Rich Johnston officiating.
Born August 5, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John and Eleanor Murphy Ray. A native of Parkersburg, West Virginia, she made the Lowcountry of South Carolina her home nearly the past thirty years. Elizabeth was a registered nurse having retired from Saint Joe Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia and again from Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving are: two sons, Joel Anthony Ray and his wife, Teresa of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Jeffrey Adam Bretti and his wife Amanda Gonzales of Prairieville, Louisiana; and her husband, Mr. Robert Earl Christian. There are five grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Bretti, and Sarah, Shannon, Jenny and Wesley Ray.
