Elizabeth Gaitan

Ms. Dora Elizabeth Hiott Gaitan, 75, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, August 3, 2024, at Summerville Community Hospice House.  Born April 21, 1949, in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late James O'Neal Hiott, Sr. and Martha Dora Bolen Hiott.  She was a retired Registered Nurse and was once a teacher at Calvary Christian School. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Surviving are: her husband, Manuel Mike Gaitan; step-daughters, Caroline Mara and Katherine Delgado; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Annette Hiott Chambers; nieces, Jennifer Kovaloski (Chad), Meredith Myers (Travis); great nephews; Travis, Jr., CJ, and Blake; her brother, Jim Hiott, Jr.; nephews, Jim Hiott,III (Julie), Michael N. Hiott; great nephew, Tyler Hiott; great niece, Emily Brown (Alex); and many special cousins and friends.

The family would like to send a special Thank you to those that helped during her time of need by providing places to stay, transportation, medical services and moral support.

She will always be remembered as being a loving, kind and caring individual by all the knew her. As well as, one who loved her animals who couldn't leave a stray in need.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 12 noon at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Round O, SC
