Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Crosby, 93, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Wednesday afternoon, September 24, 2025, at Pruitt Health in Bamberg. She was the widow of the late Samuel Whalie Crosby.
Born September 23, 1932, in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Wesley Crosby and Emily Ulmer Lemacks. She was a bookkeeper for her late husband’s logging company. Mrs. Elizabeth loved listening to sermons on television when she couldn’t go to church. She enjoyed square-dancing, southern gospel and bluegrass music and especially enjoyed going to singings at the river. She was a talented seamstress. Mrs. Elizabeth loved taking her family to reenactment’s at Rivers Bridge State Park, where they made many fond and precious memories. She was loving, caring, and had a heart of gold. More than anything, she loved her Lord and her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: her daughter, Carol Crosby; grandchildren, Erica Hiott, Jonathan Sutton, Sr. and his wife Misty, William Joseph Crosby, and Dr. Melanie Winningham and her husband Mark Stephen Mason, Jr.; great grandchildren, Logan Gabriel Hiott, Mark Aaron Norman Sutton, Jr., Bryanna Maeve Williams, Jonathan Wesley Curtis Sutton, Jr., Cheyenne Elizabeth Sutton, Mark Stephen Mason, III, Scarlett Elizabeth Crosby, Teagan Lyrik Hatley, and Eliyanah Sage Williams; son-in-law, William Sutton; granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Sutton; and brother, Samuel Crosby and his wife Marie.
She was preceded in death by her children, William George Crosby and Jean Ulmer; grandson, Mark Sutton; and siblings, Dan Crosby and Pearl Mazchek.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
