Mrs. Eleanor Stanley Stone, 82, of Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Monday evening, May 17, 2010 , at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Thursday afternoon, May 20, 2010 , from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Jim Stophel and The Reverend Daniel Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Jefferies Blvd , Walterboro.
Mrs. Stone was born November 12, 1927 , in Hampton County and was a daughter of the late Fird Stanley and the late Gertrude Davis Stanley. She was a member of Northside Christian Church in Walterboro where she was formerly active with the Ladies Circle of the church. She will be fondly remembered for her avid love of fishing, the care and admiration she had for her flowers and gardening, and the loving care she provided for her husband.
Surviving are: her husband of sixty-two years, Mr. Johnnie Boyd Stone; two sons, John R. Stone and Richard D. Stone and his wife Angie both of Walterboro; three daughters, Sharon S. Thorson and her husband Earl and Betty S. Bridgeman both of Walterboro, and Janice S. Klee and her husband Brian of Greer; and two sisters, Thelma S. Tuten and her husband James W. of Varnville and Marian S. Jones and her husband Dr. Marshall Jones of Lodge. There are sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy S. Jennings and Nina Jean Groves; a grandson, Christopher George Lemacks; four brothers; and six sisters.
