Ms. Grace Elaine Harvey, 71, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 16, 2015 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel.
Elaine was born December 8, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Glaser F. Harvey and Anne Grace Gasque Harvey. Elaine dedicated her life to serving others through her profession. She was a retired Paramedic of over 30 years, having worked for Charleston County EMS and then Colleton County EMS, which became Colleton County Fire Rescue. For over 20 years, she served as a Deputy Coroner for the Colleton County Coroner’s Office. Elaine was a member of Varnville United Methodist Church. She loved fishing, bottle collecting and especially loved her horses.
Surviving are: her children, Patricia Simmons and her husband Ed of Varnville and Ken Dixon and his wife Kelli Jenner of Summerville; granddaughter, Kayla Lynn Dixon; great grandson, Jeremy Forget; and great great grandson, Jeremy Forget, Jr.
