Edward Mixon

EARLY BRANCH- Mr. Edward OGrady Mixon, 66, of 1275 Grady Mixon Road, Early Branch, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Roper Hospital.



Funeral services will be held 3 pm, Sunday, August 30, 2009 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.



Mr. Mixon was born November 17, 1942 in Grays and was a son of Janie Horton Mixon and the late Herbert Edward Mixon. He was a retired HVAC Specialist from the Marine Corp Air Station in Beaufort. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and gardening for the community, but will be remembered most for being a devoted husband and family man, always supporting his family no matter what it took.



Surviving are: his wife, Annie Lee Mizell Mixon of Early Branch; mother, Janie Horton Mixon of Varnville; children, Daniel Edward Eddie Mixon and his wife Shannon of Early Branch and Ann Marie Nettles and her husband Kevin of Grays; grandchildren, Nicholas Nettles, Carmen Mixon and Brittany Mixon; brothers, John Henry Mixon and his wife Patricia of Varnville, Herbert Franklin Mixon of Varnville and William David Mixon and his wife Janet of Grays; aunt, Betty Reid of Grays; special friends, Hillard Crosby of Grays and James Jolley of Chesnee; and many nieces and nephews.
